Tulay na Bato ng Tayabas

This bridge was made by stones under Spanish Colonial Era. Malagonlong Bridge or Puente del Malagonlong. Malagonlong Bridge is about 445 ft. in length. It is said to be longest and oldest stone bridge in Tayabas , Quezon Province. It's also said to be built between year 1840 and 1850 under the direction of "Minister del Pueblo," fight Mattheos Antonio, a Franciscan priest. To preserve this bridge cars are banned to pass this way and another bridge was made where cars can pass. This is famous among historical movies.
An account by a Spanish traveller (1878) describes the bridge and its surroundings as follows:
“The ravine of Maragoldon which is located about half a league from Tayabas is very beautiful because of moss and ferns which cover its rocks and large stones. At the descent of the clearing stands the magnificent bridge of that name, constructed over the deep abyss where abundant water of Dumaca River passes. Said construction which is the best work in the province of Tayabas is worthy of mention among the first bridges in the Philippines. This bridge was begun in 1841 during the time of the unfortunate governor Don Joaquin Ortega and was finished in 1850. The name of Father Antonio Mateus is intimately connected with the story of its construction. The said priest lent so much knowledge, work and money in its construction. We recommend to those who may go to Tayabas to visit that gigantic work which is easy to inspect through the ramps for descent into the buttresses.”

Reflection on AETAkbo ang Feelings

Fun runs are not just about winning the race it's about having fun while running or even walking with our friends or family. It's main purpose also is to generate funds for a certain project like the project of UB YCG.

AETAkbo ang Feelings, Nagmahal Nasaktan Tumakbo of UB YCG (University of Batangas Young Communicator's Guild) aims to help the Aeta Community in Rosario Batangas.

The fun run begin with an opening prayer of Miss Hera, in every event a prayer should always be the main purpose because we should be thankful to God for another life and chance to serve others. After the prayer the we watched a short clip about the purpose of this Fun Run. After watching the video, I realized that I should run not only for the Semi Final grade of my PE subject but also for the benifits of Aeta Community. We really enjoyed this Color Fun Run, I hope there will be more fun runs for the fund raisings of our aeta community and even other people who need helps.

Villa Elma

Villa Elma is a perfect spot for the people who love nature. According to the staffs Villa Elma is about 50 hectares including the parking lots. It is another tourist spot in Lucban Quezon at A. Mabini Street. The entrance fee is 100 pesos and kids below 7 years old are free.

Upon entering, you can already see the majestic view that you will enjoy. The tables ang cottage is free, you can also bring your own food. The staffs welcomed us warmly and even volunteered to take care of our things while we roam around in this 50 hectares nature and religious park.

From gate 1 of Villa Elma you can go down using the hanging bridge or the stairs. While going down there's sculpture that you may take photos with. On the ground there's a batis that caught my attention because the water that runs is clear and very clean but swimming is not allowed. There are also many sculpture at ground like dinasours, saints and the family of owner.

At the ground there is another way going up using stairs. Going up there are also sculptures of Saints and Jesus. This place maybe tiring but it is worth it because of the views. At the you can see a beautiful view of Mt. Banahaw, but sadly it is raining when we went there so the Mt. Banahaw is covered by clouds.

This place is really worth the sweat and your expenses. Villa Elma is really "Mahiwagang Paraiso" from it's staffs, to log cabins, scultures, views, batis, antiques and furnitures. This is open everyday 8 am to 5 pm overnight should have reservation. Don't hesitate to go here, this is a place you will never forget and regret.
